Salim + Sadaf // Pittsburgh Strip District & Washington's Landing Anniversary Photos

OCTOBER 22, 2019

What Salim + Sadaf said after receiving their photos:
”We loved working with Rachel for our anniversary photos! She was very flexible and managed to take us to three different locations in an hour to make sure we get all the photos we like. Rachel listened very well to what we wanted and made it happen. She even let us explore our own ideas during our shoot and they turned out great. I can't be happier with our gallery and the edits she's done on our photos. Thank you Rach!”

What a fun time this was! Salim and Sadaf hired me to document an anniversary session for them—something I think more married couples should do! :) I drove over to their place and from there we carpooled to several fun spots in the Burgh! First we stopped over at one of their favorite bridges, the 16th St Bridge, also known as the David McCullough Bridge. After that we popped over to the famous graffiti garage in the Strip District, which now has been torn down! So SAD. RIP Graffiti Garage! We finished up at a unique location: Washington’s Landing (Herrs Island). It’s a spot I hope to return to for another photo session because it seems like a hidden gem with many good spots of nature + architecture combined.

My favorite part during this session was in between the photo taking when we got to chat about so much! They shared about their wedding, background, and culture (they are from Iran). I loved learning about them and their story. Learning the stories of my clients is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer, honestly. :) Here are some favorites from their session!
