These Little Moments Don’t Last Forever

That’s why I love encouraging families to book a lifestyle session with me. It’s low pressure, low stress. All I want to do is capture you being you, with those most special to you. I have some experience with families, let me tell you. I come from a family of 10 and I’ve also been an aunt since I was 5, so I have practice with young ones and with the whole family spectrum. Families are everything. And families are forever. But the years go by and everyone grows up too fast. Let’s capture your family now before everyone goes off to college.

How it Works

I’m not big on posing or shouting out commands. I direct gently, but really I want to let your family run wild and free. You in your element. My focus is just on your little unit *being together*. I won’t ask your kiddos to sit still for an hour (good luck!) or throw you into cheesy poses. Snuggling, giggling, wrestling, running, crying — it’s all about you and your real interactions with each other. Plus, this is the day to really capture Mom in her zone. She tends to always be the one behind the camera. And, of course, we’re going to get you, the parents, alone too. You’re the reason this whole family exists! Let’s make sure you get your moment in front of the camera too!

FAQs

My approach is more documentary and candid. I don’t want to be posing you the whole time, making every image stiff and stuffy. I want families to interact with one another as if I’m not there. I encourage my families to not look at the camera unless I ask them, and to simply enjoy spending time together. Usually doing some activity together can help ease any tension you might be feeling.
At this time, I do not have a studio. Family sessions can be done at your home or at another location you choose.
Once we select a date, time, and location, I will send over the contract and an invoice for the non-refundable retainer ($200). Once both of these are submitted to me, your session will be officially booked and in my calendar! The remaining amount due can be paid at any time up until the day of the session at the latest.
Maternity, Birth, Fresh 48, Newborn, Family, Extended Family… basically everything!
You will receive the images through a private online photo gallery where you are able to download them. You will also have access to a professional print shop where I recommend my clients print their photos for the highest quality and most accurate colors.
Every family session is different, but you can expect to receive anywhere from 75-150 images for a one hour session.
Typically my portrait sessions are one hour. If you book a session within 30 minutes of Grove City then I offer 30 minute sessions, and if you book a session in Grove City I can do as short of a session as 15 minutes. 1-2x a year I offer Mini Sessions as well which are typically 15 minutes long.
