Q: How do we know if we are a good fit?
A: This is SO important. MANY photographers take amazing images, but that doesn’t mean every photographer is right for you. It’s so important that both my clients and I agree that we are a good fit. How do we find that out? Well for one, if you are into every image being posed 100000%, we are not going to be a good fit. Sometimes I take a step back while I’m photographing the bride and groom, letting them do their thing, whether it’s talking to one another, being cute, being quiet, whatever it is. If the thought of that makes your skin crawl, we may not be a good fit. The couples that work best with me are laid back. My couples know that their wedding day is about the vows they are making in front of their special people and that everything else is secondary. If you want your images photoshopped, we are not a good fit. While I will gladly remove a blemish (of course zits have to make an appearance on wedding days..!), I do not slim down waists, airbrush skin, or add in fake sunsets. THE REAL STUFF, that’s what I aim to capture and deliver.

Q: What if we are awkward in front of the camera?
A: You are not the first person to ask me this and certainly not the last! I have worked with many couples, especially grooms, who don’t like having their photo taken or are afraid of appearing awkward at all times. FEAR NOT, because every single time I’ve had these clients, they come back saying what a good time they had and how comfortable it was for both of them! Trust me, I got this. You guys are gonna look AMAZING. <3

Q: Do you have any client reviews?
A: YES!! Before I buy anything I am ALWAYS checking Amazon reviews. It should be the same with your photographer! You can see reviews by going to my “Reviews” tab.
You can find more reviews on the Knot by going to this link:

OR, if you Google my business, “Rachel Kunzen Photography” you can read reviews on my Google listing.

Q: Do you have an assistant or second photographer at weddings?

A: Almost all weddings I photograph alone, unless the couple wants a second photographer. If this is something you are unsure about, I would be happy to talk about it further to see if it is something you need.

Q: What is your photography style?
A: I do my best to incorporate techniques that allow couples to feel comfortable and allow me to capture your genuine personalities, whether that’s being silly or romantic. While I focus on capturing mostly candid images, I do posing from time to time to take advantage of the lighting and location. My goal is always to get a combo of formal (I know, smiling at the camera is SO basic, but it’s a classic that everyone loves), fun, and romantic photos! Basically a little bit of all the goodness. Scan through any of the weddings I have featured on my site, and you will see what I mean. :) My style of editing is more earthy toned, with deeper shadows, but bursting with love, emotion, and heart.

Q: What is the booking process like?
A: I try to make it as easy as possible! If we are a good fit for one another, then I will send over an online contract and an invoice for the non-refundable retainer (20% of the total due). Once that is signed and paid, you are officially booked! YAY! :D The remaining amount is due 30 days before your wedding.

Q: Will we meet in person before we book?
A: Due to my schedule, which generally conflicts with my clients schedule (you are free evenings and weekends which is usually when I am photographing), as well as that most of my clients live an hour away from me, I do not meet clients in person. Just like you, the free time I have in the evenings or the few free weekends, I want to spend them with my husband and the ones I love! You get it. However, I do try to have a phone call with every client that is seriously interested in booking, because I think it helps erase any awkward feelings before the engagement session or wedding day. We will also have another phone call about 4-6 weeks before your wedding so we can go over and confirm the details.

Q: How many images do we receive?
A: I never give clients a specific number to expect. Every wedding is SO different and it depends on things like: how many hours you hire me for, if you add on a second photographer, how many ‘events’ happen throughout your wedding day, etc. Generally, my clients receive anywhere from 500-850 images.

Q: How do we receive the images?
A: For weddings, all the final images are delivered via an online gallery where you can then download them. You will also have access to a professional lab print shop within the gallery to make everything easy and in one place for you. You will also receive a custom USB with all your final images.

Q: How long does it take to receive our images?
A: Anywhere from 4-8 weeks depending on what month your wedding is (i.e. September/October are the busiest months for me for photos so it will take me a little longer to return images). I know it’s SO tough to wait, but I will always post at least 1-2 sneak peeks from your wedding to hold you over (and the wait is certainly worth it)! :D

Q: Do you travel for weddings?
A: Yes! I have photographed in PA, OH, IL, WV, NY, NV, and even Iceland! Traveling is one of my FAVORITE things to do, so I would be happy to travel near or far to be a part of your special day. Travel and accommodation fees apply and depend on the specific location.

Q: Do you backup our images?
A: HECK YES. My camera has two card slots, so I have your images kept on 2 cards. When I get home, I upload the images to my hard drive, as well as my external hard drive. I also have a program running on my computer at all times, which is constantly backing up new photos to an offsite location (basically the cloud). So that’s 5 places total your images are kept.

If there is a question you have that I didn’t answer, send me an email! You can never over-communicate when it comes to weddings. I want to make sure there are no doubts in your mind when working with me! :)
